This case looks at the Axel Springer Media Corporation transition into digitilzation. The case underlines the set backs that are apparent through the conversion to e-media outlets. On the surface, The Axel Springer Media Corporation will reduce paper production as well as their carbon footprint from physical print transportation but the shift to e-media has other hidden impacts. The Axel Springer Media Corporation lists environmental and social responsibility as components of their core values but producing content for e-meida platforms promotes the production of rare earth materials and supports a electronics production industry which not so socially and envirnomentaly responsible characteristics. The real question is: How much repsonibility do content creaters such as The Axel Springer Media Corporation personally carry into the supplychain of electronics production, specifically rare earth mineral mining, as they make the transition to a e-media platform?
