This case looks at an industry that is known for anything but being "GREEN". The mine has the current issue of reclaiming and treating byproduct water from mine operations known as "DEWATERING". The mine could continue simply treating the water and reintroducing it locally, use natural evaporation to treat contaminated water, create a reverse osmosis plan, or treat the water and send it to farmers via an irrigation pipeline to be repurposed for agricultural options. Each method has adverse environmental impacts and costs in differing degrees. This case compares and contrasts the differing options.
